On Saturday, February 13, 2010 at approximately 0350 hours, Cpl. Ferreiro and Ptl. Medvetz stopped a vehicle on Rt. 22 West in the Rotola Law Office Parking Lot for failure to maintain lane and entering a closed business. The vehicle was operated by John Conrad (18) of Revere, Pa and occupied by rear seat passenger Austin Lester (18) of Kintner, Pa.

During the investigation, Police detected and odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating out from inside of the vehicle. Suspecting the driver was under the influence of alcohol, Police had John Conrad perform Standardized Field Sobriety Test’s. John Conrad failed the tests and was placed under arrest for DWI. A later search of the vehicle revealed open container of alcoholic beverage, which Austin Lester took ownership for and drug paraphernalia under the driver seat. John Conrad was charged with DWI, failure to maintain lane, possession of drug paraphernalia, and Austin Lester was charged with possession of alcohol by an individual under the age of 21. Both individuals were released to a sober adult and are waiting a future court appearance.
