ARMED ROBBERY UPDATE – SECOND SUSPECT IN CUSTODY, GUNS RECOVERED
At around 4:45 p.m. on July 14, 2025, members of the Cloquet Police Department executed a search warrant in the City of Cloquet based on information gathered during the robbery investigation.
During the search, officers discovered items they believe are linked to the armed robbery, including the suspected handgun used in the crime.
Officers also recovered another handgun they think was stolen during recent vehicle prowls in the area.
A 15-year-old male juvenile from Cloquet was subsequently taken to the Arrowhead Juvenile Center pending formal charges.
The investigation remains ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
Chief Randall commends the hard work of all officers involved in this investigation and is grateful that no one was hurt or injured during the incident.

As the investigation into the armed robbery at the Washington Avenue Kwik Trip continued, officers were able to locate one of the alleged suspects involved.
Around 6:20 p.m. on July 12, 2025, a 16-year-old juvenile male was found and taken into custody without incident in the nearby town of Wrenshall. The individual is currently being held at the Arrowhead Juvenile Correction Center pending formal charges.
Officers later executed a search warrant at the location and found items connected to the robbery. One juvenile is in custody, while the other suspect remains at large.
Chief Randall said he believes investigators will identify the second suspect soon. He encouraged the individual to safely make arrangements with the Cloquet Police Department to turn themselves in. Anyone with information regarding the robbery or the perpetrators is encouraged to contact the PD.

Cloquet Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Kwik Trip store located at 900 Washington Ave in the City of Cloquet. On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 4:39 a.m., witnesses reported to 911 that two male suspects entered the store, brandished a firearm, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspects then fled the store, heading north on foot. No injuries occurred during the incident.
One suspect is described as a thin male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a dark-colored hooded top, dark pants, white tennis shoes, a facemask, and light-colored gloves.
The other suspect is described as a thin male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a dark hooded top, dark pants, black tennis shoes, a brown bag, a face mask, and dark-colored gloves.
A perimeter was established around the business, and a police K-9 was deployed in the search for the suspects, but after about an hour, the track ended inconclusively. It is possible the suspects left the area in a vehicle after initially exiting on foot. Detectives and officers continue to follow up on potential leads.

Review your cameras for vehicles or foot traffic in the area, specifically north of Washington Ave, between HWY 33 and 14th St., between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025.
