Residential Structure Fire – Avoid Area
Emergency services are currently responding to a residential structure fire in the vicinity of the 1600 block of Edmund St. For your safety and to allow emergency personnel to work without obstruction, please avoid the area of Fitzgerlad Rd. between Hudspeth Ave. and Gibson Ave. until further notice.
Ventura County Fire officials are continuing to work on the fire, where explosions from inside the garage were initially reported. The explosions were determined to be fireworks, which resulted in the death of one person. The fire spread from the garage to the attic and into the house. This incident is still under investigation.
