In a special meeting held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, Eugene Miller, of Ormond Beach, was selected as Orange City’s new interim city manager.

Miller, is no stranger to Orange City, he served as interim manager 2001-2003 during another transition. Miller starts work today, Friday, Feb. 12, and is expected to fill the position until the permanent city manager is selected.

During Wednesday’s special meeting, Council members expressed that Miller is a wonderful manager who is well known to the area.

They agreed that this will be a hectic few months as they complete the city manager search and Miller will have a lot of responsibility during this transition period.

With over forty-five years experience he has served as the city manager of Ormond Beach, Fla., Norman, Okla., Champaign, Ill., Marietta, Ga., Winfield, Kan., Brinkley, Ark., and interim city manager of Oviedo, Casselberry and Sanford, Fla.

During his career he was selected as an Honorary Member of the Florida City County Manager Association and a Life Member of the International City-County Management Association.
