The City of Hoboken today announced the Division of Recreation will offer summer softball, baseball, basketball, and gymnastics clinics as well as cheerleading day camp to Hoboken youth. The City is also launching adult pick-up basketball on Friday mornings.

All clinics will begin the week of July 7. Registration will launch on Thursday, May 8, at 5 p.m. Residents can register at https://hoboken.recdesk.com/Community/Program. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis.

The baseball clinic for residents ages 6 – 9 and 10 - 12 will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Little League Field. This program aims to instill a love for baseball in young athletes while fostering confidence, coordination, and social skills that extend beyond the field.

The softball clinic will be held on Tuesdays and Thursday at the Little League Field for children ages 6 – 9 years old and 10 – 12 years old. The co-ed softball clinics offer guided coaching in fundamental techniques with friendly competition as well as a summer of fun on the field.

The basketball clinic will be for youth in third through eighth grade. These action-packed indoor sessions offer a terrific opportunity for young athletes to develop their on-court abilities and learn essential game techniques.

Summer basketball for Boys 5th & 6th grades and Boys 7th & 8th grades will be held on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at the Damon Murray Community Gym at Seventh and Jackson Streets.

Summer basketball for CO-ED  3rd & 4th grades and Girls 5th – 8th grades will be held on Monday and Wednesday mornings at the Damon Murray Community Gym.

The gymnastics clinic will offer children between the ages of 5 and 12 one class per week at the Multi Service Center at 124 Grand St. Clinics will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. This is an instructional program where participants will have fun learning basic gymnastics.

The City will also partner with Cheer Dynamic All Stars to once again offer a weekly summer camp to children between the ages of 5 and 16. Camps will be held at the Multi Service Center, Monday through Thursday. Camps will be held on the weeks of July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28 and Aug. 4. Activities include age-specific games, fundamentals training, basic tumbling, core strengthening, jumps, dances, and conditioning.

The new adult pick-up basketball program will start July 7th and be held every Friday for five weeks at the Damon Murray Community Gym. This is an informal “pick up” basketball program for adults over 18-years-old only.

Basketballs will be provided for use. All registered players must sign in before participation. Those who are not registered will not be allowed to participate.
