Due to the heavy snowfall, residents are urged to remain off the roads unless it is an emergency.

With a heavy snowfall already on the ground with more falling throughout the day, the Moorestown Office of Emergency Management urges residents to remain at home and off the roads unless it is an emergency. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service follows:

.LOW PRESSURE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF INTENSIFYING OFF THE NORTHERN
NORTH CAROLINA COAST AND THE VIRGINIA CAPES EARLY THIS MORNING.
THIS POTENT STORM WILL TRACK EAST-NORTHEASTWARD DURING TODAY...
AND ACCELERATE AWAY FROM OUR AREA TONIGHT. HEAVY SNOW AND STRONG
WINDS WILL IMPACT A GOOD PART OF OUR AREA...MAINLY OVER CENTRAL
AND SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF OUR REGION...THROUGH MOST OF TODAY.

A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS
EVENING.

SNOW HAS OVERSPREAD MOST OF THE AREA EARLY THIS MORNING AND WILL
CONTINUE MUCH OF TODAY. STORM TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 12 TO
AS MUCH AS 24 INCHES ARE EXPECTED. THE SNOW WILL FALL HEAVILY AT
TIMES THROUGH EARLY THIS AFTERNOON...WITH RATES OF 1 OR 2 INCHES
AN HOUR. THE HIGHEST SNOWFALL RATES SHOULD BE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
PORTIONS OF THE REGION.

AN INCREASING NORTHEAST TO NORTH WIND WITH GUSTS UP TO 35 MPH
OVERNIGHT AND SATURDAY WILL CREATE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.
THIS COMBINED WITH THE FALLING SNOW WILL CREATE VERY HAZARDOUS
CONDITIONS INCLUDING GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES AT TIMES.
