NWS has issued a Special Weather Statement: 1 to 2 inches of snow expected overnight creating slippery roads & walks.

LIGHT SNOW WILL DEVELOP ACROSS THE TRI-STATE FROM WEST TO EAST THIS EVENING...THEN BECOME STEADIER AND HEAVIER BY MORNING. UP TO AN INCH OF SNOW IS EXPECTED BY MORNING...WITH HIGHER AMOUNTS GENERALLY WEST OF THE CONNECTICUT/NEW YORK STATE LINE AND INTO CENTRAL LONG ISLAND. SNOW CONTINUES INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING BEFORE TAPERING OFF FROM WEST TO EAST WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. A TOTAL SNOWFALL OF 1 TO 2 INCHES IS EXPECTED WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 4 INCHES POSSIBLE. THE HIGHEST SNOW TOTALS ARE EXPECTED GENERALLY WEST OF THE NEW YORK/CONNECTICUT STATE LINE AND INTO CENTRAL LONG
ISLAND...WITH THE LOWEST TOTALS OVER SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT.
