NWS Blacksburg has issued a major snow event warning
that includes Galax, Carroll and Grayson. Snow is expected to begin around 6:00 PM today and continue through Saturday afternoon before slowly ending. Traveling conditions are expected to be very hazardous.

Citizens of Galax are asked not to call E-911 unless they have a true emergency. The non-emergency number of the Galax Police Department is 27-236-8101. Listen to local radio or watch local television. Live weather information is avaliable via the internet at:
